There are so many reasons why buying local makes sense.
There is peace of mind in knowing where food comes from, asking questions and enjoying the experience at the new Wellington North Farmers’ Market, said township tourism, marketing and promotions manager April Marshall.
The market will run from May 9 through Oct. 10 from 3 to 8pm, on King St. E., in Mount Forest, at the Victory Community Centre.
It is set to officially open this Friday, with Mayor Ray Tout set to officially open the market at 3pm.
“A farmers’ market is a good opportunity for the community to connect. It allows us to buy from and support our local farmers and producers, thus contributing to our local economy,” said Marshall.
“We are pleased to give our residents and visitors the opportunity to experience agriculture close up by hearing the story of where their food came from, straight from the person that grew and prepared it.”
The Wellington North Farmers’ Market is being sponsored by the collaboration and support of participating vendors, the township of Wellington North, Mount Forest Victory Church, Mount Forest Chamber of Commerce, Arthur Chamber of Commerce, MARCC Apparel, Print One and Taste Real.
Interested vendors are asked to contact April Marshall at the township municipal office in Kenilworth.
